Easter Celebration at Ararat Home

On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and clergy members visited Ararat Home in Mission Hills to conduct Easter services and offer prayers for the administration, faculty, and residents.

The celebration began at the Skilled Nursing Facility with Easter hymns and prayers, followed by the Blessing of the Home service after which the residents received Holy Communion. Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator Margarita Kechichian thanked the Prelate and clergy for their regular visits and prayers, while His Eminence commended the care and compassion of the administration and staff and conveyed his blessings and well wishes to all.

Divine Liturgy followed at Sheen Memorial Chapel. Very Rev. Fr. Vache Balekjian celebrated Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon, stating “as our Lord Jesus Christ bore His suffering with faith and patience, we too must endure the challenges and difficulties in our lives with faith, patience, and strong will.” Fr. Vache noted that the Armenian people have been guided by the power and the spirit of the Resurrection for centuries, adding that the Risen Christ must continue to be a presence in the life of the Armenian people forevermore.

Next, the Blessing of the Home service was conducted at the Assisted Living Facility. The Prelate conveyed his blessings and well wishes and proclaimed the good news that “Christ is risen from the dead” to all.

A festive luncheon followed with the participation of the clergy, Board Chairman Mr. Michael Surmeian and members, staff, and residents. On behalf of the Board and administration Mrs. Rita Noravian expressed gratitude to the Prelate and clergy for their prayers and care not only on holidays but throughout the year. His Eminence once again commended the administration, faculty, and staff, and wished a happy Easter and continued successes to all.
