Annual New Year and Christmas Visit of Chamlian School First Grade Class to the Prelacy

In keeping with a time honored tradition, on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, the first grade class of Vahan and Anoush Chamlian School paid its annual visit to the Prelacy to convey New Year and Christmas well wishes to H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate.

The 110 students arrived in two groups, accompanied by Principal Dr. Talin Kargodorian, Armenian teachers, parents, and grandparents. They first gathered at “St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen” Chapel for a prayer service led by the Prelate, who was joined by Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian and Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian.

Christmas cheer pervaded the Prelacy as students then gathered at “Dikran and Zarouhie Der Ghazarian” Hall to present a festive program of carols and recitations performed with utmost enthusiasm and childlike wonder. The students began their program with a heartwarming pledge expressing their love for the Armenian language, homeland, church, and faith.

The Prelate delivered his message commending the beautiful performances and the efforts of the teachers and parents, stating that this was his first and most precious Christmas gift and that the presence of the students filled his heart and soul with joy. He likened the children to angels who are filled with God’s grace and blessings, and prayed for a bright, safe, and peaceful New Year filled with faith, hope, and love.

On this occasion the students presented gifts to the Prelate who, in turn, presented prayer cards portraying the Birth of Christ.
