Armenian Community of San Francisco Targeted Again

In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 19, 2020, the Armenian community of San Francisco was targeted once again as a shot was fired at the sign of Krouzian-Zekarian-Vasbouragan School. This comes two days after the community center adjacent to St. Gregory the Illuminator Church was set ablaze by alleged arsonists and two months after the school was vandalized with anti-Armenian graffiti. It is the latest of a growing number of attacks in recent years against Armenians in Los Angeles and around the world.

We commend local authorities who are diligently investigating these most recent attacks, but at the same time we expect for the perpetrators to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law to prevent similar acts of hate and aggression in the future and for our communities to operate in peace and safety.

We are confident that our local community remains vigilant and more determined than ever in its resolve and service.
