Board of Regents of Prelacy Schools Hosts Annual Professional Development Day

On Saturday, October 19, 2019, the annual Professional Development Day organized by the Board of Regents of Prelacy Schools was held at Ferrahian High School’s “Avedissian” Hall in Encino.

H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended the seminar’s opening and delivered his message blessing and commending the organizers and participants. He was joined by H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, and Archpriest Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian.

Chairperson Lisa Gaboudian delivered remarks on behalf of the Board of Regents.

In his message, the Prelate spoke about teaching as one of the most challenging yet one of the most rewarding professions, for teachers have a great responsibility to instruct and develop young impressionable minds and also to build character and life skills. He stated that continually renewing and bettering ourselves both personally and professionally is important for all but especially for teachers given their mighty responsibilities. Thus, he commended the Board of Regents for providing this opportunity for our educators to enhance their skills and the participants for their attendance, which he regarded as a testament of their devotion to their calling.

The seminar included various workshops on a wide range of topics. The Vicar General gave a presentation to junior high and high school Armenian subject teachers on “The Spiritual-Intellectual Instruction of Armenian Students.”
