Census Bureau Representative Visits the Prelacy

On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, welcomed the visit of U.S. Census Bureau L.A. County Partnership Specialist Anahit Tovmasyan, who had come to provide information on ensuring an accurate count of Armenian-Americans in the 2020 census. Religious Council Chair Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian participated in the meeting.

Ms. Tovmasyan stressed the importance of having a complete count of everyone residing in the United States, including for fair representation, distribution of federal grants, and redistricting, and asked for the Prelacy’s assistance and partnership in providing the necessary information to the community.

As in the past, the Prelate once again commended Ms. Tovmasyan’s service and mission, affirmed the importance of the census and the Prelacy’s support and collaboration in this important endeavor.
