Grand Opening of New Retirement Community at the California Armenian Home in Fresno

In mid-June of 2016, the California Armenian Home in Fresno embarked on a massive expansion project, named The Vineyards, the grand opening of which took place on Saturday, February 10, 2018. On behalf of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Ashekian, parish pastor of Holy Trinity Church of Fresno, participated in the ceremony and read the Prelate’s message on this occasion. Very Rev. Fr. Barouyr Shernezian, parish pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of San Francisco, also participated.

On behalf of the Western Prelacy Religious and Executive Councils and community, His Eminence expressed joy and pride at the inauguration of The Vineyards, stating, “I was so pleased to be with you for the groundbreaking ceremony less than two years ago, and I am all the more pleased today as you reap the fruits of your hard work.” The Prelate commended all those who dedicated their time and resources to the realization of the massive yet worthy undertaking, which he regarded as a top-notch community where our elders can enjoy their retirement years in a warm, serene, and loving family environment and where they will be treated with utmost appreciation, care, respect, and dignity. “The California Armenian Home has been a blessing for our community over the past 65 years, and The Vineyards will certainly be wonderful extension of its valuable mission,” stated the Prelate, and concluded by congratulating the Board of Directors, administrators, staff, and the community in general, and extending best wishes for continued successes in their God-pleasing service.

A blessing service conducted by clergy members followed, after which guests had the opportunity to view the new complex.
