In Memoriam: Gabriel Injejikian

H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and the Religious and Executive Councils mourn the passing of Gabriel Injejikian, founding principal of Holy Martyrs Ferrahian High School, lifelong educator, and community activist, which occurred on Sunday, April 14, 2019. A national funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 2:00 p.m., at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino, followed by interment at Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn.

Gabriel Injejikian devoted his life to serving our community, most notably in the field of education. He was a visionary who made the impossible possible and established the first Armenian day school in the United States. He educated and instructed generations of Armenian youth, and took upon himself the mission of preserving and promoting our national heritage. His lifetime of praiseworthy service earned him the Catholicosate of Cilicia’s “St. Mesrob Mashdots” medal.

We convey our condolences to his wife Rose, children Avedis, Arpi, Ara and their families, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

May his memory remain ever blessed.
