Interfaith National Day of Prayer


On Thursday, May 4, Mayor Eric Garetti, First Lady Amy Elaine Wakeland, and the Getty House Foundation Board of Directors hosted the annual interfaith National Day of Prayer at the Getty House in Los Angeles. The event featured prayer, song, breaking bread, and fellowship.

Very Rev. Fr. Torkom Donoyan and Chaplain Rafi Garabedian represented the Prelate and participated in the program with a prayer.

The program began with introductions by the Mr. Daniel Tamm, the Mayor’s Interfaith Liaison. The First Lady welcomed the guests, which was followed by the invocation. Mayor Eric Garcetti delivered his remarks, in which he called for compassion, mercy, justice, peace, love, and hope in the community. The program concluded with a call to action by Mr. Tamm calling for direct involvement in issues such as homelessness and immigration.
