New Year & Christmas Schedule of Services

In just a few days we will welcome the New Year 2020 and celebrate the glorious Birth and Revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. The schedule of services is as follows:

On Wednesday, January 1st, a New Year service will be offered in Prelacy Churches so that our faithful may begin the year together with prayer and exchange well wishes to one another.

In 2020, the eve of the feast of the Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ falls on a Sunday. Given that, according to our Church canons, Divine Liturgy cannot be celebrated more than once on the same altar in one day, on the morning of January 5th a brief prayer service, sermon on the day’s Scripture reading, and requiem will be held, while Christmas Eve – Jrakalooyts service will be celebrated in the evening. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will conduct the service and deliver his message at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino, and H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, at St. Sarkis Church in Pasadena.

On Monday, January 6, the Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ will be celebrated with Divine Liturgy and the blessing of water. The Prelate will celebrate Christmas Divine Liturgy and deliver his message at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale, and H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood.

On Tuesday, January 7, at 10:00 a.m., Merelots – Memorial Day requiem services will be offered at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills “Hall of Liberty” and Forest Lawn Glendale “Church of the Recessional.”

Christmas services will also take place at Ararat Home in Mission Hills on Thursday, January 2nd, at 10:00 a.m., and at Glendale Memorial Hospital on Friday, January 3rd at 12:00 noon.
