Pilibos School 8th Grade Class Visits the Prelacy Ahead of Washington D.C. Trip

On Thursday, April 4, 2019, the eighth grade class of Rose and Alex Pilibos School, accompanied by their teachers, paid a visit to the Prelacy to receive the blessings of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, prior to embarking on their class trip to Washington D.C.

The visit began at the “St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen” Chapel with the Lord’s Prayer and a hymn from the Great Lent Sunrise service led by the Prelate, who was joined by Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian and Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian.

Next, students gathered at “Dikran and Zarouhie Der Ghazarian” Hall, where the students presented a program of remarks, recitations, song and dance.

In his address, the Prelate stated that the visits of our students are a welcome respite from his hectic schedule and witnessing their grasp of our culture, language, and traditions gives him hope for our future. He commended the students and urged them to continue heeding the instruction and advice of their teachers and parents to one day become our community activists, teachers, clergy, and leaders. The Prelate concluded by expressing hope that the students will have the opportunity to visit churches, the ANCA office, press offices, and other community institutions during their trip.

The program concluded with Cilicia and the Armenian national anthem.
