Prayers on the 28th Anniversary of the Armenia Earthquake

December 7, 2016 marked the 28th anniversary of the Armenia earthquake, which killed at least 25,000 people, injured tens of thousands, and devastated Spitak, Gyumri, Vanadzor, and surrounding villages. On Sunday, December 11, by the ordinance of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, “Der Voghormya” prayers will be offered for the victims of the deadly earthquake. The somber anniversary was observed in Prelacy Schools on Wednesday. At St. Garabed Church in Hollywood, requiem prayers were offered with the participation of Rose and Alex Pilibos School students.

On Sunday, the Prelate will be with the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church family, and in the afternoon will preside over the Celebration of Life ceremony for Rita Khachaturian, wife of benefactor Hank Khachaturian.
