Prelate Expresses Condolences on the Passing of Former Governor George Deukmejian

Upon hearing the sad news of the passing of former California Governor George Deukmejian, on behalf of the Western Prelacy family, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, expressed condolences to the late Governor’s wife Gloria, children Leslie, George, and Andrea, grandchildren, and extended family, praying for the Lord to grant them strength and peace during this difficult time.

“The name George Deukmejian is synonymous with honesty, integrity, decency, and courage. Throughout his decades-long public service he brought great pride and honor not only to Armenian-Americans but to all Californians. For the Armenian people in particular he was a trailblazer and a great inspiration who paved the path for others to enter politics and make a difference through their service. He was, in short, a great man and a moral and upstanding leader who will be dearly missed,” wrote the Prelate.
