On Friday, March 15, 2019, Rose and Alex Pilibos School celebrated its 49th anniversary with a banquet held at Glen Arden Club in Glendale under the auspices and with the presence of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate.
In attendance were State Senator Anthony Portantino, who also conveyed his congratulations and presented a proclamation, ARF Central Committee Chair Dr. Carmen Ohanian, Executive Council members Dr. Navasart Kazazian and George Chorbajian, Board of Regents and School Board members, sponsors and supporters.
Also present were representatives of the ARF Karekin Njteh Gomideh, ARS Mayr chapter, and Homenetmen Los Angeles chapter, who were recognized for their support of the School.
The program began with welcoming remarks by Interim Principal Maral Tavitian. Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian delivered the invocation. A group of students delivered a speech lauding the ARF Karekin Njteh Gomideh, ARS Mayr chapter, and Homenetmen Los Angeles chapter, representatives of which received plaques of appreciation from the School administration. Dr. Alina Dorian, Head of School, delivered her message.
The Prelate began his message by congratulating and commending the School family, in particular Dr. Dorian and Mrs. Tavitian, wishing them continued successes and many more anniversaries to come. Referencing the evening’s theme of “Forever Rising,” His Eminence stressed the importance of continuous renewal in our collective and individual lives, evolving, challenging ourselves and always striving for better in order to keep rising. He commended the united efforts which have made Pilibos an esteemed institute of learning and bastion of national identity, adding “we have no doubt that Pilibos will continue to rise so long as you keep working together with purpose, vision, and enthusiasm, and most importantly with faith, love, and humility.”
