PRELATE TO PAY PASTORAL VISIT TO ST. GARABED PARISH COMMUNITY OF LAS VEGAS

This weekend, H.E. Archhbishop Mousegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will pay a pastoral visit to St. Garabed Church parish community where on Sunday, April 19, 2015 he will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon on the third Sunday of Easter, Green Sunday.

On Saturday, the Prelate will participate in a number of community events. The day will begin with the ribbon-cutting and opening reception of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Las Vegas. The unveiling of a plaque dedicated to the survivors of the Armenian Genocide will follow at the UNLV campus. The plaque is sponsored by the family of the late UNLV basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian. A cultural program will follow. On Saturday night, by the invitation of Honorary Consul Adroushan Armenian and Mrs. Nora Armenian, a dinner reception will be held at the Tropicana Hotel in honor of visiting dignitaries and Las Vegas Consular Corp.

PRELATE TO DELIVER INVOCATION AT CALIFORNIA STATE SENATE GENOCIDE COMMEMORATION IN SACRAMENTO

On Monday, April 20, thousands of Armenians from across California will assembly at the California State Capitol for the annual Advocacy Day organized by the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region, during which the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be commemorated in the California State Senate and Assembly.

As in previous years, the Prelate will deliver the invocation on the Senate floor. He will be accompanied by Rev. Fr. Vahan Gosdanian. A reception with public officials will follow. The Prelate will also attend the exhibit at the California State Museum titled “Armenian Journey” featuring religious and national artifacts.

PASADENA ARMENIAN GENOCIDE MEMORIAL UNVEILING

On the afternoon of Saturday, April 18, clergy, elected officials, organizational leaders, and community members will join the Pasadena Armenian Genocide Memorial Committee and partner organizations for the unveiling ceremony of the Pasadena Armenian Genocide Memorial.

On behalf of the Prelate, Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian and Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian will participate in the ceremony. The project began last year with the ground-blessing presided over by the Prelate. In January of this year His Eminence presided over the ceremony in honor of the commencement of construction.
