Vahe Tashjian joined in the visit.

Following the example of our Lord Christ’s special love and care for children, the visit began at Postoian Pre-School, where the Prelate and guests were greeted by Principal Dr. Alina Dorian, Director Takouhi Saatjian, and teachers. His Eminence had a friendly and warm interaction with the young students, with one young student offering to share his lunch with the Prelate and another asking His Eminence to take him home as he had missed his mother.

The visit continued at Pilibos High School, where the Prelate and guests were greeted by teachers and senior class students. The school has adopted the motto “This is our Journey” for the new academic year, thus, students presented their thoughts about service, nationalism, and other values that will lead them throughout the year.

The Prelate conducted the blessing of salt and bread at the entrance of the “Apkarian” building presented by students in national dress, after which he visited a number of classrooms, the library, and toured three newly built classrooms. Students conveyed remarks and a recitation, accompanied by the duduk. In the classrooms, students once again expressed their ideas on the year’s motto. The Prelate urged them to remain true to our faith and nation and to speak, read, and write in our mother tongue. At the conclusion of the visit the students presented the Prelate with a drawing of the Armenian flag and a memento bearing the year’s motto.
