Mansurian, for which Ms. Arzoumanian gave brief explanations. He spoke of Mr. Mansurian as not only a musician but as a poet who possesses the skill and ability to adapt even the most difficult Yeghishe Charents poem into a beautiful composition.

The Prelate commended and thanked the organizers, program participants, guests, and most especially Mr. Mansurian. The Prelate announced that in response to a request by him and the Executive Council, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, was bestowing upon Mr. Mansurian the “St. Mesrob Mashdot” medal. His Eminence read the Pontifical Encyclical, and presented the medal to the distinguished composer.

Moved by the gesture, Mr. Mansurian expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for the great honor and his appreciation and thanks to the Prelate, organizers, and participants.

The program came to a close with the benediction, after which guests enjoyed a reception and had the opportunity to personally congratulate the honoree.
