On Sunday, January 15, 2023, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, celebrated Divine Liturgy, blessed images and the madagh at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood. Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian assisted on the altar. In attendance were members of the Executive Council, the Principal of Rose & Alex Pilibos Armenian School, representatives of community organizations and the faithful.
The Prelate blessed the images (The first image portraying the Holy Martyrs, which was donated by David and Gor Matevosian brothers in memory of their grandfather. The second image portraying the Forty Maryrts, which was donated by Deacon Manoug Choulian in memory of his grandparents.)
Through his sermon, Bishop Donoyan stressed the importance of the Divine power of God, stating; “The Lord’s mercy is so immeasurable in its capacity that it binds us to Heaven and fills our life with divine light, so much so, that we are strong in faith and keep the doors of our souls open before Christ.” The Bishop concluded his sermon by congratulating the St. Garabed parish on the name day of the Church and to all those who bear the name Garabed and Hovhannes, which was followed by blessing of the madagh.
