Community Gathering and Prayers for Aleppo

In light of the recent escalation in violence in Aleppo, which has resulted in a number of Armenian casualties, the Syrian Armenian Relief Fund held a special public gathering on the evening of Monday, October 10 to pray for the victims and protest the continued violence against innocent civilians. The Prelate delivered his message, which he began stating that the Armenian nation is collectively in mourning over the tragic loss of life, and noted that the prior day requiem prayers were offered in Prelacy Churches for the latest casualties as well as for all the lives lost since the start of the conflict. “It is important to mourn our losses, but it is not enough. We must heed SARF’s call to action and fulfill our national duty toward our compatriots by lending our collective and generous support. We must let our brethren know that though we are separated by distance, they are in our hearts and minds. We feel their pain and grief, and we will do all that we can to alleviate their suffering,” stressed the Prelate, and concluded by praying for peace in Syria and in all conflict-ridden areas of the world.
