Day of Prayer for Syria

As the situation in Syria continues to deteriorate day by day, Armenians worldwide, including the Western United States community, continue to lend humanitarian support to our brothers and sisters in Syria, all the while hoping for a resolution to the conflict and the return of peace and stability.

By the request of the Syrian Armenian Relief Fund, and the decision of the spiritual leaders of the local Armenian Apostolic, Catholic, and Evangelical Churches, Sunday, September 15, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, has been designated Day of Prayer for Syria.  By the ordinance of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, “Der Voghormya” prayers will be offered during Divine Liturgy for the safety and peace of the Syrian people and the Syrian-Armenian community.

We urge our faithful to join us in prayer for the Lord to watch over the Syrian people and the Armenian community caught in the crossfire of the civil war, and for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
