H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and the Religious and Executive Councils mourn the passing of esteemed educator, national servant, and Holy Martyrs Church delegate Haigaz Terterian, which occurred on Sunday, August 23, 2020.

Haigaz Terterian was born and raised in Kessab and nourished with Armenian spirit from a young age. His passion for learning led him to Antelias, where he attended and graduated from the Holy See of Cilicia Seminary.
Nation, Church, and homeland were his life purpose. From Lebanon to Los Angeles he served as an educator and faithful servant of the Armenian nation for decades, instructing generations of Armenian youth and advocating for the Armenian Cause. He is the author of numerous articles and of a book dedicated to his beloved Kessab. In July of 1996, he was awarded the “St. Mesrob Mashdots” medal by His Holiness Catholicos Aram I in recognition of his worthy service.
We convey our condolences to his wife Yerchanouhi, children Assadour, Keri, Hrag, and Houshig, grandchildren, brother, sisters, extended family and friends.
The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 8, at Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn, presided by the Prelate.
