Holy Wednesday at Ararat Home


On Wednesday, April 1, 2015, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and clergy paid a visit to Ararat Home in Mission Hills where they conducted Holy Wednesday service and offered prayers and Easter well-wishes to the administrators, nurses, and residents.

The day began at the Resident’s Dining Room of the Skilled Nursing Facility where the Blessing of the Home service was conducted. Prior to the service Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian wished good health for the residents and a happy Easter to all. The residents received Holy Communion following the Confession, and the service came to a close with Cilicia and the Armenian national anthem. The Prelate conveyed his Easter blessings to all and Board Chairman Joseph Kanimian expressed gratitude to His Eminence and clergy for their constant care and frequent visits. The residents also received Easter mementos from the Prelate.

Boghos gave a sermon on the symbolism of the fragrant oils used to anoint Jesus prior to His betrayal and also at His burial. The service came to a close with the offering of Holy Communion.

A prayer service comprising Easter hymns and the blessing of water, bread, and salt was conducted at the Resident’s Dining Room of the Assisted Living Facility, after which the Prelate and clergy were hosted to lunch by the administration. The luncheon came to a close with a Thanksgiving Prayer. Administrators and residents received mementos of an illustrated William Saroyan quote.
