Launching of “The Promise Institute for Human Rights” at UCLA

On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, a special reception was held at UCLA to launch “The Promise Institute for Human Rights.” The center at the university’s School of Law will serve as a national hub for human rights education, research, and advocacy.

It has been launched with the help of a $20 million donation from proceeds of the movie “The Promise” on the Armenian Genocide. The decision to contribute proceeds from the film was led by Dr. Eric Esrailian, lead producer of The Promise and a faculty member at the UCLA School of Medicine.

On behalf of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian attended the reception.
