On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, Rose and Alex Pilibos School 11th grade students visits the Prelacy to receive the blessings of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, prior to their pilgrimage to Armenia and renew their allegiance to our faith and national identity.

The visit began with prayer at the “St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen” Chapel led by the Prelate, Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian and Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian, and continued at “Dikran and Zarouhie Der Ghazarian Hall” where the students presented a program of remarks, songs, dance, and recitations dedicated to the Armenian language.

The Prelate joyfully welcomed the presence of the students and conveyed his blessings and commendation. Quoting from one of Jacques Hagopian’s poems, His Eminence urged the students to never forget their mother tongue, to speak to one another in Armenian during their pilgrimage and to promote our language and culture upon their return. He spoke to them about the Risen Christ and His greetings of love and peace to the disciple after His resurrection, stating that the Armenian people are children of a resurrected nation. Speaking about their upcoming pilgrimage, the Prelate advised the students to appreciate the time they will spend on our sacred lands where they will witness first hand our rich history, to renew their faithfulness toward our Church and nation and return strengthened in their identity having visited Oshagan, Sardarabad, Khor Virab and other holy sites.

The program concluded with “Cilicia,” and students received copies of one of Jacques Hagopian’s books.
