Prelate Bestows “St. Ashkhen” Medal on Jasik Jarahian at Homenetmen “Ararat” Chapter 35th Anniversary Celebration


On Saturday, October 19, 2013, members, sponsors, and friends of the Homenetmen Glendale “Ararat” Chapter gathered at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Los Angeles to celebrate the Chapter’s 35th anniversary.

H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended the gala, delivered the invocation and conveyed his message.  Also present were Executive Council Chair Mrs. Rima Boghossian and St. Mary’s Church Pastors.

During the event, Mrs. Jasik Jarahian was recognized by the Chapter as Ararat 2013 Honorary Member.

On this occasion, the Prelate bestowed upon Mrs. Jarahian the Prelacy “St. Ashkhen” Medal, which is awarded to notable women in recognition and appreciation of their service to the Armenian community.

In his message, His Eminence acclaimed Homenetmen as a vital organization for Armenians around the world and commended the organization’s volunteers who fully dedicate themselves to the intellectual, physical, spiritual and cultural development of our youth and to the preservation of our language, culture, and traditions.  “A sterling example of just such an individual who has devoted her life for the greater good of the Armenian people is the 2013 Honorary Member Mrs. Jasik Jarahian, a familiar and much-beloved name in our community who exemplifies what it means to be a national servant”, stated the Prelate.  The Prelate offered a prayer to God to bless Honorary Member Mrs. Jasik Jarahian and all the members of Homenetmen who dedicate their time and energy for the progress of the Armenian people and nation, and the sponsors for their unwavering support and encouragement of Homenetmen’s worthy mission.

In conclusion, the Prelate once again congratulated the extended Homenetmen family on this 35th anniversary celebration and wished them even greater successes in the years to come.
