In a taped video message, the Prelate blessed and commended the members of Orran for providing children hope for a brighter future and the elderly hope to live out their golden years with dignity. His Eminence noted that poverty affects more than just the individual; that it leads to a destructive cycle of poverty that repeats from generation to generation and puts an economic strain on the nation.

Thus, he stressed that what Orran is doing is beneficial not only for individuals and families, but also for the nation. The Prelate next commended the generous contributions of donors and called for more support so that Orran can continue its vital mission. “Poverty is a prevalent issue in Armenia which necessitates communal efforts. As children of God and members of one family, we cannot close our eyes to the suffering of our brothers and sisters. We read in Proverbs that “he who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord; he who gives of his bread to the poor will be blessed; he who is kind to the needy honors the Lord.” Each and every one of us is called to reflect the love and mercy of our Lord through our service to others. Let us heed our calling as Christians and join hands with Orran to provide a better life for our brethren in need in our homeland,” concluded the Prelate.
