Prelate Delivers Message at Navasartian Closing Ceremony

Last weekend, the Homenetmen 41st Navasartian Games and Festival was held at Birmingham High School. The closing ceremony, featuring the parade of athletes and scouts and the distribution of championship trophies, was held on the evening of Sunday, July 3, 2016.

H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended and delivered his message. He spoke of the Navasartian games and festival as one of the most beloved and long-standing traditions within the Diaspora, stating, “This annual event brings pride and joy to our hearts and souls for we witness the triumphs of our young scouts and athletes, and moreover because it unites our community members of all ages for a celebration of our heritage, bonding us in spirit with the traditions of our forefathers from centuries ago.” The Prelate commended the Homenetmen family for their dedicated service to our nation and for the well-being of our youth especially, and urged all to work together as members of one family, with love, unity, and brotherhood, inspired by the “Year of Service” proclamation of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, to advance our cause and to ensure a bright future for our homeland and our people.

On Friday, July 1st, the Prelate visited the booths and conveyed his blessings to the Homenetmen family and friends.
