Prelate Pays Official Visit to Adventist Health Glendale

On Thursday August 12, 2021, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, paid an official visit to Adventist Health Glendale where he conducted the blessing of grapes on the occasion of the feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God. The Prelate was joined by Very Rev. Fr. Smpad Saboundjian, Very Rev. Fr. Ashod Khachadourian, Rev. Fr. Ardak Demirjian, and Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian.

The Prelate and accompanying clergy were greeted by hospital president Alice Issai, Director of the Mission and Spiritual Care Department Nelu Nedelea, and Vice President of Business Development and Strategies Ramella Markarian, who welcomed them, conveyed their well wishes, and thanked the Prelate for his first official visit to the hospital.

The Prelate delivered his remarks, first and foremost highly commending all the devoted members of Adventist Health for the thorough and meticulous care of their patients at one of the most eminent health centers in Glendale. He prayed for God to heal all the patients, bring an end to the Covid-19 pandemic, and firmly establish His divine peace in all of our lives.

Prior to conducting the blessing of grapes, the Prelate noted that the Armenian Church conducts the ceremony every year on the feast of the Assumption, with grapes symbolizing fruitfulness and abundance, and expressed hope that the blessed grapes will bring peace and health of mind and body to all who consume.
