Prelate Presides over Back-To-School Ceremony at Ferrahian and Cabayan Schools

In mid-August, Prelacy Schools opened their doors to commence the 2016-2017 school year. The new academic year began with special ceremonies, during which local pastors conveyed the blessings, message, and well wishes of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, addressed to the administration, faculty, students, and parents.

On Monday, August 15, 2016, the Prelate presided over the opening ceremonies of Ferrahian and Cabayan Schools. The day began at “Avedissian” Hall of the Encino campus where the school family was joined by representatives of Holy Martyrs Church and sister organizations. The ceremony began with the invocation by Archpriest Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian. Mrs. Sossi Shanlian, the school’s new principal, welcomed the students and faculty, and then reflected on the mission of the Armenian School, emphasizing the importance of respect and adherence to rules and regulations.

The Prelate began his message by giving thanks to God for the start of yet another school year and praying for the Lord to safeguard our schools and grant wisdom and guidance to our educators in their service. His Eminence conveyed his blessings and congratulations to the new principal and wished her well in her new duties, and iterating the principal’s message, urged the youth to always be respectful of and faithful to the school’s rules. Reflecting on the “Year of Service” proclamation of His Holiness Aram I, the Prelate stated that the Armenian School, with its administrators and educators, is the embodiment of selfless and dedicated service.
