Prelate Welcomes Wife of Armenia’s Defense Minister


On Thursday, September 25, 2014, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, welcomed Mrs. Ruzan Ohanyan, wife of Armenia’s Defense Minister Colonel General Seyran Ohanyan, who is in town to participate in the American Medical Society conference. The honored guest was accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. Vartkes and Mary Najarian. ARS member Mrs. Jasik Jarahian and Prelacy Ladies Auxiliary Chair Mrs. Dzovig Zetlian and member Mrs. Alvard Barseghian participated in the meeting.

The discussion centered on the state of affairs in Armenia and Artsakh and ongoing border incidences. Mrs. Ohanyan highlighted the nationalism, devotion, and selflessness of the soldiers who risk their lives to defend our nation, and especially the borders, noting that our soldiers need all types of support to successfully carry out their mission.

At the conclusion of the visit Mrs. Ohanyan presented the Prelate with a memento from the Ministry of Defense, a medal bearing the image of General Antranig. His Eminence presented the guest with a memento and wished her a pleasant stay.
