The Prelate Presided Over Divine Liturgy at Holy Cross Cathedral and Blessed the Graduates

On Sunday June 7, 2021, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, presided over the Divine Liturgy and delivered his message at Holy Cross Cathedral in Montebello. On the Feast of Holy Etchmiadzin, the Prelate in his message referred to story and tradition related to the construction of the Church of Etchmiadzin and reflected upon the faith, dedication and martyrdom which St. Gregory the Illuminator had regarding Jesus Christ. The Prelate also expounded on the importance of faith, hope and love in human life to graduates of Mesrobian Armenian School. Strengthening the graduates in their faith, he stated; “Our graduates believed in the importance of their strengths and purpose, therefore, after graduating from school, they go forth to pursue a higher education because they believe that obtaining a higher education is a necessary path to success. Throughout the years, they also had the hope of gaining that higher education, and today that hope is rewarded through the graduation.”

Then, as the best example of love, he pointed out the love which all the graduates have towards their families, educational and future activities, and as graduates of Mesrobian Armenian School the Prelate urged them to be exemplary Christian Armenians through their faith, hope and service to others and also towards their families and nation.

On this occasion, the Prelate commended Mr. David Ghoogasian, Principal, as well as the school administration, who together bring diligent and dedicated service to the Mesrobian Armenian School.

Thereafter, the Prelate gifted a prayer book to the graduates, as well as a wooden cross to the former principal of the school Dr. Onnig Keshishian; whose efforts started the beautiful tradition of bringing the graduating class of Mesrobian Armenian School to the Cathedral each year to receive Holy Communion and blessing from the Prelate before their gradiation.
