PRELATE SENDS CONDOLENCE LETTER TO BISHOP SERAPION

In response to the brutal killing of 21 Coptic Christians in Libya by ISIS forces, earlier this week the Prelate sent a letter of condolence and solidarity to H.G. Bishop Serapion, head of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Los Angeles. In the letter, His Eminence stated “it is disheartening that the land where Christianity was born has become a perilous one for our Christian communities who have called the Middle East home for centuries”, adding, “we stand in solidarity with the Coptic faithful, and with all our fellow Christians, for as brothers and sisters in Christ, an assault on one is an assault on all”.

The Prelate also noted that the safety of our communities in the Middle East continues to be of grave concern for us all, stating, “we continue to pray for their safety and wellbeing and for God to grant strength to endure for all the persecuted religious and ethnic minorities as we await the eventual triumph of good over this great evil and the return of some semblance of peace in the region”.
