ARMENIAN CULTURE MONTH TO BE CELEBRATED
IN ORANGE COUNTY

St_-Mesrob-MashdotsEach year on the occasion of the Feast of the Holy Translators and Armenian Culture Month, Forty Martyrs Church and Ari Guiragos Minassian School of Orange County host a book fair to celebrate and honor the legacy of St. Mesrob Mashdots and our translator forefathers.

This year’s book fair will be held on Sunday, October 13.

The day will begin with Divine Liturgy celebrated by H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, who will also deliver the sermon.  Following the service, His Eminence will conduct the opening of the book fair at “Gugasian” Hall.  A.G. Minassian School students will attend Divine Liturgy and present a cultural program at the book fair.

On Friday, October 11, the Feast of the Holy Translators will be celebrated with evening service at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood.  The Prelate will preside over the service and deliver his message.  Prelacy clergy will participate in the service.

ARCHPRIEST FR. HRANT YERETZIAN CELEBRATES HIS FIRST DIVINE LITURGY
AT ST. GARABED CHURCH IN HOLLYWOOD

DerHrantBadarak2On Sunday, October 6, Archpriest Fr. Hrant Yeretzian celebrated his first Divine Liturgy at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood since being appointed as the Church’s second pastor.  By the ordinance of the Prelate and the decision of the Religious and Executive Councils, last month Archpriest Fr. Hrant Yeretzian was appointed the second pastor of St. Garabed Church, to serve alongside Parish Pastor, Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian.

The Prelate presided over the service, during which he formally welcomed Fr. Hrant to St. Garabed Church and introduced him to the parish community.

BURBANK YOUTH CENTER RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY

BurbankYouthCenter1On Sunday, October 6, the Burbank Armenian Cultural Foundation hosted the ribbon-cutting for the Burbank Youth Center.

The Prelate attended the ceremony and conveyed his blessings and message to the guests, which included members of the Burbank City Council, ARF Central Committee and Aghpalian Gomideh, representatives of sister organizations, and sponsors.  He was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian, Rev. Fr. Vazken Atmajian, and Rev. Fr. Gomidas Torossian.

In his message, the Prelate stressed the importance of having such centers in our community for they serve not only as recreational centers, but as religious, educational, and cultural hubs.  It is important for our youth especially, stated the Prelate, because it gives them a safe and familiar place to congregate and engage in social and educational activities that will enhance their minds, bodies, and hearts.

The Prelate commended the hard work and support of all those involved in the project; the sponsors for their generous contributions, the volunteers who dedicated their time and efforts to ensuring the success of this project, and all the friends and supporters for their encouragement.

ARMENIA FUND CORPORATE BOARD MEETING

On Thursday, October 10, the Prelate participated in the Armenia Fund Corporate Board meeting at the organization’s headquarters in Glendale.

On the agenda were preparations for the annual Thanksgiving Day Telethon, phone-a-thon, Telethon logo unveiling, and the annual gala.

BANQUET IN HONOR OF AMERICAN-ARMENIAN THEATRICAL AND MUSICAL SOCIETY
FOUNDER VICTOR MARDIROSSIAN

On Thursday, October 10, a banquet was held by the Board of Directors of the American Armenian Theatrical and Musical Society in honor of Founder and President Mr. Victor Mardirossian’s 50 years of service to the promotion of Armenian culture.

Rev. Fr. Ghevont Kirazian attended and conveyed the Prelate’s blessings.
