ST. SARKIS PARISH COMMUNITY OF PASADENA TO CELEBRATE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF ESTABLISHMENT AND 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF CHURCH CONSECRATION

PasadenaChurchThis year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Pasadena parish community and the 10th anniversary of the consecration of St. Sarkis Church.

In honor of these dual anniversaries, on Sunday, October 4, the Prelate will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at St. Sarkis Church. On the evening of Saturday, October 3rd, a banquet celebrating the anniversaries will be held at the Great Caesar Banquet Hall in Tujunga. The Prelate will preside over the banquet, which this year is being hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Sarkis and Nune Sepetjian.

JOINT CLERGY CONFERENCE IN OBSERVANCE OF THE FEAST OF THE HOLY TRANSLATORS

Holy-TranslatorsAccording to our Church calendar, this year the Feast of the Holy Translators falls on Saturday, October 10. In observance of the Feast, a joint clergy conference will take place from October 5-9, with the participation of the Prelates and clergy of the Eastern, Western, and Canadian Prelacies. The three Prelacies traditionally hold a joint clergy conference biennially on the occasion of the Feast of St. Ghevontiants. However it was decided hereafter to hold the conference in commemoration of the Holy Translators.

The conference, with the theme “Renewed Commitment by the Legacy of our Martyrs,” is being hosted by the Eastern Prelacy and will be held at St. Vartanants Church in New Jersey.

The conference will feature morning and evening services, presentations, lectures, roundtable discussion, Divine Liturgy, cultural performances, and visits to local Armenian institutions.

EVENING SERVICE DEDICATED TO THE HOLY TRANSLATORS TO BE HELD AT HOLY MARTYRS CHURCH IN ENCINO

EncinoChurchUpon their return from the East Coast after participating in the joint clergy conference, on Friday, October 9, the Feast of the Holy Translators will be celebrated locally with evening service to be held at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino. The Prelate will preside over the service and deliver his message. Prelacy clergy members will participate. The service begins at 7:00 p.m.

We invite our faithful to attend and honor the legacy of our holy translator forefathers.
