Western Prelacy Publishes “Journey to the Armenian Heritage” By Garo Bedrosian

In response to the proclamation of 2012 as the “Year of the Armenian Book” by H.H. Catholicos Aram I, the Western Prelacy has published the latest book by Garo Bedrosian titled Journey to the Armenian Heritage.

The book is printed by “Hye Kir” and the design and layout is by Siroon Yeretzian and Harry Mesrobian.

The book opens with the message of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, in which His Eminence lauds the value of such books in familiarizing our people and especially our youth with our heritage and traditions. In the prologue, the author highlights the bond and love of our people to our feasts, church and culture, and community organizations.

The book consists of three sections. The first covers 12 Armenian religious, national, and social celebrations and commemorations. The second part is devoted to the Armenian Apostolic, Catholic, and Evangelical Churches, and includes information on the historical, spiritual, and educational service and organization of the three. The third part is dedicated to major Armenian cultural organizations and their service to the community in the areas of literature, drama, music, and the arts. These include Hamzakin, Tekeyan, and Nor Serount. Also included are charitable, educational, and social welfare organizations such as AGBU and the Armenian Relief Society.

The end of the book includes a brief synopsis in English, and closes with the bibliography.
