Western Prelacy Receives ABMDR Humanitarian Achievement Award

On Sunday, August 10, 2014, the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry celebrated its 15th anniversary at its annual “Match for Life” Gala held at the Glendale Hilton.

Among the evening’s honorees was the Western Prelacy, which received the 2014 Humanitarian Achievement Award in recognition of its support to the ABMDR’s life-saving mission.

H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, was in attendance to personally accept the award. His Eminence was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian. Members of the Prelacy Ladies Auxiliary were among the guests in attendance.

Upon receiving the award from ABMDR President Dr. Frieda Jordan, the Prelate addressed the gathering to express his thanks and appreciation for the honor. His Eminence emphasized that as Christians, charity and compassion is an essential component of our faith, and thus, “we strive to spread God’s love and compassion to all, and especially to those in need, without expectation or anticipation of reward, for our reward comes from our Lord”. The Prelate commended the leadership and volunteers of the ABMDR who have committed themselves to the organization’s life-saving cause. “You have and continue to be a blessing for so many of our brothers and sisters, many of them little children and young adults, fighting life-threatening illnesses. You have brought hope not only to them, but to their families, and we join them all in expressing gratitude to you today. In conclusion, the Prelate congratulated the ABMDR on 15 years of service and especially Dr. Frieda Jordan for her exemplary leadership and dedication, congratulated the evening’s honorees, and prayed for the health of all those receiving care from the ABMDR.
