On Sunday, March 26, 2023, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, on the occasion of the feast of St. Gregory the Illuminators entrance into the pit, celebrated Divine Liturgy and blessed the madagh at St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church in San Francisco. Very Rev. Fr. Smpad Sabounjian assisted on the Altar. In attendance were Mr. Garbis Bezdjian, member of the Executive Council, Mr. Rosdom Aintablian, member of the Central Executive Council, representatives of community organizations and the faithful.
In his sermon, Bishop Donoyan emphasized the importance of prayer, and then referred to importance of the intercessory power of St. Gregory the Illuminator, especially during times of difficulty, also urging the faithful to stay away from the snares of evil, so that we can live a good life, a life without having doubt and hesitations, a life which is pleasing to God.
Following the Liturgy, the blessing of madagh took place at the church courtyard, where the Prelate also blessed the faithful, wishing that St. Gregory the Illuminator becomes a continuing presence in the lives of the faithful and in the community, and may Divine Love reign everywhere.
