On Sunday, March 10, 2024, the representative of H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian, presided over the Divine Liturgy at Forty Martyrs Armenian Church in Orange County. In commemoration of Forty Martyrs Church’s name day, Very Rev. Fr. Sarkissian delivered a sermon and conducted the blessing of the Madagh.
Reverend Father Karekin Bedourian, Pastor of Forty Martyrs Armenian Church, deacons, stole bearers, and scribes assisted at the altar. In attendance were Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian, Chairman of the Western Prelacy Executive Council, and his wife Mrs. Hasmig Hovaguimian, joined by the members of the Board of Trustees, benefactors, representatives of the Armenian community and a large number of parishioners.
During his sermon, Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian recognized the unwavering and strong faith exhibited by the forty soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Jesus Christ. Very Rev. Fr Sarkissian urged the attendees to continuously uphold the legacy of the 40 soldiers in their own lives, in order to be deemed deserving of the Kingdom of Heaven as devoted Christians and followers of Jesus Christ.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, attendees gathered for a luncheon held at the Gugassian Hall. At the luncheon attendees expressed their heartfelt and sincere congratulations to Reverend Fr. Karekin Bedourian on the occasion of his 15th Anniversary of ordination and consecration into priesthood.
