On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, welcomed members of the Hamazkayin Western Regional Executive to the Prelacy. In attendance were Mrs. Knar Kortoshian, Chairwoman, Ms. Seta Krikorian, Secretary, Mr. Vicken Harboyan, Treasurer and Mrs. Dzovinar Ghazarian, Executive secretary, who invited the Prelate to preside over the 55th anniversary Gala celebrating the foundation of Hamazkayin in the Western United States. The Gala will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the “Taglian Cultural Complex” in Hollywood.
During the meeting, Bishop Donoyan emphasized the educational and cultural contributions of Hamazkayin, and its mission to advance and promote the Armenian culture in its various aspects and cultural values Hamazkayin’s mission spans over 95 years worldwide, and specifically over 5 decades within the Western United States. The Prelate wished success to this event, which is organized to support Hamazkayin’s vision to finally obtain its own Cultural center in the region.
At the end of the meeting, the Bishop was also informed about the future plans of the Hamazkayin Western Regional Executive, expressed his support for the efforts and on this occasion took over the sponsorship of re-publishing Gomidas Vartabed’s songs-booklet, which he had previously proposed, advising that copies of the booklet to be distributed to all those present during the dinner.
The Regional members whole-heartedly thanked the Prelate for his continuous support towards the local and pan-Armenian programs of the Hamazkayin, which he has shown since the first day of his election as Prelate of the Western Prelacy.
