On Friday, March 5, 2021, the Prelates of the three Prelacies of North America, H.E. Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian (Prelate of the Eastern Prelacy,) H.E. Archbishop Papken Tcharian (Prelate of Canada) and H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan (Prelate of the Western Prelacy) held an online meeting. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss issues relating to the church, religion, respective communities, further development of educational and spiritual activities, as well as the general challenges faced by the Armenians.
Archbishops Tanielian and Tcharian first congratulated Bishop Donoyan on his election as Prelate of the Western Prelacy and wished him well on his mission. Then, the issues related to the Corona Virus, adjustments of the church ceremonies and various interests of each region were discussed, having in mind the provisions set forth by each local and federal governments became the subject of the meeting.
Considering that the biennial Joint Clergy Assembly of the Three North American Prelacies was to be held in New York this year, on the occasion of the Feast of the Holy Translators, the Prelates considered it appropriate to postpone the meeting for another year.
