On Sunday, December 4, 2022, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Garabed Armenian Church in Hollywood. Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian celebrated the Divine Liturgy, and in attendance were Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian, members of the Board of Trustees, Delegates, Principal and students from Rose & Alex Pilibos Armenian School, benefactors and faithful.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the Bishop and the faithful were led to the church hall, where a luncheon was held, during which the Prelate commended the dedication and service of Fr. Vassilian and congratulated his 40th ordination anniversary, and a special letter from the Prelate was read by Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian, which was followed by Bishop Donoyan gifting a pectoral cross to Fr. Vassilian on behalf of the church Board of Trustees.
The event was filled with heartwarming speeches, where many congratulated Fr. Vassilian, who, in return delivered his words of gratitude towards the Prelate, the representatives of the Hollywood Armenian community, school, community organizations and especially towards the generous benefactors, thanks to their donations, the renovations of the Mother Church continue. Thereafter, a cake-cutting ceremony took place.
The Master of Ceremonies was Mr. Manoug Seraydarian. During the event, students from the Rose & Alex Pilibos Armenian School performed a short program.
