A global call to action was recently made by His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia, urging Armenian communities across the world to safeguard the rights of Artsakh Armenians and offer assistance and support for their socio-economic needs. To fulfill this objective, His Holiness Aram I, in collaboration with the Central Executive Council and Prelates of the Holy See of Cilicia, established a special body to provide assistance to Armenians of Artsakh. The special body is composed of the following members:
– H.E. Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Prelate of the Eastern Prelacy of the United States
– H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States
– Jirayr Habibyan, Esq. (Chairperson of the Executive Council of the Prelacy of United Arab Emirates and Qatar)
– Hagop Loussararian, contractor (Member of the Executive Council of the Prelacy of Lebanon)
The special body has already begun its work to fulfill its purpose and mission, and so far, both the Eastern and Western Prelacies of the United States have allocated $100,000 for assistance. The aid will be executed in a systematic and thorough manner, considering the urgency, priority, and most immediate requirements and needs of Artsakh Armenians.
