On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, welcomed Mrs. Sossi Shanlian, Principal of Ferrahian Armenian School, teachers and the 8th grade students to the Western Prelacy. Also in attendance was Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian, Dean of St. Mary’s Armenian Church in Glendale.
Mrs. Shanlian greeted the Prelate and on behalf of the Ferrahian Armenian School large family, presented him with a donation of $5000 to be used towards the relief efforts in Aleppo, due to the devastating earthquake.
Then, the students delivered a short program full of recitations and songs dedicated to Feast of St. Vartanants, which was followed by the students presenting the Prelate with a memento. In turn, Bishop Donoyan highly commended the dedication of the teachers and the students program, and most especially the fraternal love of the students towards the Armenians of Aleppo.
Following the visit, the Prelate blessed the students and gifted them with a copy of Jacques S. Hagopian’s “Voghgouyz” book and wooden cross bracelets.
