On the morning of Thursday, August 17, 2023, a cheerful atmosphere surrounded the Western Prelacy Armenian Schools where students, teachers, and parents enthusiastically returned to their beloved schools to commence the 2023-2024 academic year. Leaving the summer vacation behind them, young and old eagerly headed back to their second homes where they will receive Armenian education and grow to become well-rounded members of the Armenian-American community. The change of classrooms, the arrival of new students with their parents, and the warm embrace amongst friends and classmates alike made the first day of school both joyful and rewarding. Educators and administrators welcomed back their beloved students with open arms whose mission is to forge the foundation of the Armenian-American student, shape their minds and as a devoted second parent instill in them our Christian faith.

H. G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, on the commencement of the new academic year, was present at the opening ceremony of Holy Martyrs Ferrahian Armenian School in Encino. Prelate Donoyan prayed for a successful school year and with a heartfelt and encouraging message blessed the students, dedicated teachers, staff, administrators, School Board members, and all parents, who believe in the mission of Armenian Schools. Also present at the opening ceremony was Mrs. Dzovig Zetlian, a member of the Western Prelacy Executive Council.

The commencement bell has sounded. We wish all Armenian daily schools an incredible academic year. May the 2023-2024 school year be productive and prosperous, a year filled with countless successes and achievements, educationally, nationally, and for our homeland.

We would like to note also, that representing H. G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, our clergy were present and participated in the commencement ceremony of their local Prelacy Armenian School.
