On Sunday, November 2, 2025, His Holiness Catholicos Aram I presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Glendale, delivering his pontifical message to thousands of faithful who gathered for his pontifical blessing.
The Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Kegham Khatcherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy. The service welcomed a large assembly of clergy, monastics, diocesan representatives, community benefactors, and parishioners.
In his opening remarks, Archbishop Khatcherian expressed the community’s profound joy, emphasizing that the faithful had assembled to receive the Catholicos’s blessing and to reaffirm their devotion to the Armenian Church.
At the heart of the pontifical message was the biblical parable of the shrewd steward, especially the passage, “Give an account of your stewardship.” His Holiness elaborated on this, presenting accountability as a divine command relevant to every aspect of life.
“Accountability lies at the very heart of human and Christian life,” stated His Holiness, referencing the story of Adam and Eve as the first example of accountability demanded by God. He further noted that true accountability involves conscious responsibility in five key areas: to God, the Church, the Nation, the Family, and oneself.
The service concluded with the congregation singing the hymn, “Cilicia.”
