On Friday, November 21, 2025, at noon, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Harout and Lena Soghomonian to the Western Prelacy. Responding to the Prelate’s invitation, the couple agreed to serve as the primary sponsors of the Western Prelacy’s New Year and Christmas Dinner, in memory of Mr. Soghomonian’s brother, the late Hrayr Soghomonian, a devoted national benefactor and respected philanthropist.
The Prelate expressed his appreciation for the couple’s long-standing support of the Western Prelacy, the Armenian Church, and the broader community, as well as the Soghomonian family’s significant philanthropic work in Armenian communities around the world. H.E. Archbishop Khacherian also conveyed his gratitude for their commitment to sponsor the Western Prelacy’s only annual fundraising event.
Mr. Harout Soghomonian, in turn, thanked H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian and noted that they are taking on the sponsorship of the Western Prelacy’s New Year and Christmas Dinner in memory of his brother, who for decades offered unwavering support for the global mission of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia.
Also present at the meeting were Rev. Fr. Karekin Bedourian, Chairman of the Religious Council of the Western Prelacy and Pastor of Forty Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church of Orange County, and Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian, Pastor of St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church of Hollywood.
