
On the evening of Wednesday, March 4, 2026, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, received a visit from Dr. Razmik Panossian, Director of the Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, accompanied by Ms. Ani Garmirian, Head of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Western Armenian and Education Programs.
Archbishop Khacherian welcomed the guests and expressed his appreciation for the various educational and cultural initiatives carried out by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, particularly its efforts to strengthen Armenian language learning and usage.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Foundation’s representatives were in Los Angeles to take part in a conference titled “It Takes a Diaspora to Raise a Language: Future Directions for Armenian.” The Foundation maintains ongoing collaboration with the educational institutions of the Western Prelacy, and the discussion also touched on matters of shared interest related to Armenian education and language preservation.
Dr. Panossian and Ms. Garmirian provided additional details about the conference organized by the Foundation, highlighting its main objectives and areas of focus. At the conclusion of the visit, the Prelate praised the Foundation’s work in serving the Armenian community and nation, and extended his best wishes for its continued success.
