H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian Presides Over A Gathering Of Western Prelacy Deacons

On Saturday morning, November 23, 2024, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, presided over a meeting of Western Prelacy deacons at Avedisian Hall of Holy Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church. The gathering was also attended by the Western Prelacy clergy.

After the Lord’s Prayer, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian conveyed his heartfelt message to the gathered deacons and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to engage with them on a personal level. The Prelate then offered his fatherly guidance to those present, highlighting the significant role that deacons play in the church’s Divine Liturgy.

H.E. Archbishop Khacherian provided examples of his reflections, highlighting the importance of deacons having a thorough understanding and knowledge of Divine Liturgy. The Prelate expressed that the Divine Liturgy of the Armenian church goes beyond a symbolic ceremony, as it also emphasizes order, discipline, and moderation. H.E. Archbishop Khacherian stressed that deacons serving at the altar must possess this level of understanding and knowledge.

During the gathering, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian also addressed questions from the deacons. Subsequently, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian and the deacons were the guests at a reception hosted by the church Pastor and Board of Trustees.
