On the morning of Thursday, December 12, 2024, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, visited Vahan and Anoush Chamlian Armenian School on the occasion of the upcoming holiday season. Dr. Talin Kargodorian, Head of School at Vahan and Anoush Chamlian Armenian School, along with teachers, staff, and students, warmly welcomed the Prelate Archbishop Khacherian. Also present were Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian, Dean of St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church of Glendale, Mr. Mher Der Ohanessian, Vice-Chair of the Western Prelacy Executive Council, Mr. Gevik Baghdassarian, Member of the Executive Council, and Ms. Arlene Zenian, member of the Board of Regents of Prelacy Armenian Schools.
The students welcomed Archbishop Khacherian to their campus by showcasing a magnificent cultural program. At the conclusion of the program, H.E. Archbishop Khacherian expressed his appreciation and praised the student’s meticulous presentation. Archbishop Khacherian also thanked the parents and emphasized the significant role parents have, alongside the school’s administration and staff. The Prelate characterized the role of parents as “a protective fence for young trees that are just emerging, ensuring that the newly planted trees can grow and prosper properly. So are our parents, who serve as protective fences standing strong behind their children, nurturing and caring for them, so they become durable and prosperous adult trees in their families and our community.” Archbishop Khacherian concluded his remarks by extending his fatherly blessings to all the members of the large community of Vahan and Anoush Chamlian Armenian School.
After the conclusion of the official program, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian visited different classrooms, interacted with various groups of students and staff, and familiarized himself with the school’s departments, programs, and activities.
