
– REQUIEM SERVICE FOR HOMENETMEN MEMBERS
On Sunday, December 10, 2023, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, ahead of the holidays, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Fresno. During his sermon, H.G. Bishop Donoyan spoke about the importance of love and referenced John 4:20 “How could one not love their brother, whom they have seen, and love God, whom they have not seen.” Elaborating on these biblical words, H.G. Bishop Donoyan encouraged the audience to prioritize their love for God through faith, followed by showing love and respect towards others, including friends, and lastly, to love oneself while avoiding the negative consequences of selfishness.
Assisting the altar were Very Rev, Fr. Ashod Khachadourian, Pastor of Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Fresno, Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian, Pastor of St. Mary’s Armenian Church of Glendale, Berj Apkarian, Executive Council member and Deacon, Mark Shirin, delegate and Deacon, Bill Sahatdjian, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Deacon, and scribes.
Following his welcoming remarks, H.G. Bishop Donoyan expressed his heartfelt and sincere wishes to the Armenian community of Fresno, extending wishes for global peace and tranquility, the fostering of love amongst individuals, and a joyful life embraced by the Divine.
After the completion of the Divine Liturgy, H.G. Bishop Donoyan held a cordial, warm and friendly meetings with the members of the Fresno community in the hall of Holy Trinity Armenian Church.
The Fresno community gifted a vestment to H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, as a gesture of their appreciation and love.
