The Prelate Presides Over A Luncheon For The Residents Of Ararat Home

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, presided over a humanitarian luncheon organized for the Armenian senior residents of Ararat Home in Mission Hills. The luncheon was held at the invitation of the Regional Executive of the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) and was sponsored jointly by the ARS Regional Executive and a number of individual benefactors.

Among those in attendance were Archpriest Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian, Pastor of Holy Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church in Encino, and Mr. Joseph Kanimian, Chairman of the Ararat Home Board of Trustees. In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Kanimian expressed his appreciation to Archbishop Khacherian, the ARS, and the individual benefactors whose generosity made the luncheon possible. He also commended the ongoing care and attention extended by the Western Prelacy, the Armenian Relief Society, community organizations, dedicated community members, and benefactors toward the well being of the Armenian parents, grandparents and senior residents of Ararat Home.

In his address, Archbishop Khacherian praised the Armenian Relief Society for its longstanding humanitarian mission and worldwide service to the Armenian people. He also expressed his appreciation for the invaluable mission of Ararat Home in providing a nurturing and dignified environment for Armenian seniors. The Prelate noted, “Although this institution, which offers our Armenian seniors, parents, and loved ones a peaceful and dignified life, may occupy a quiet corner of our community, it is by no means a marginal establishment. On the contrary, it stands as a powerful testimony that our elders are spending their later years with dignity in this Armenian-Christian and national environment, where love, respect, compassion, and professional care play an essential role.”

Archbishop Khacherian also conveyed his appreciation to the sponsors, as well as to the leadership and staff of Ararat Home for their devoted service. Concluding with a prayer and words of blessing, he wished the residents peace, good health, longevity, and many blessed years. He also extended his appreciation and blessings to all organizations, benefactors, and community members whose generosity and dedication continue to support the mission of Ararat Home.
